Tailing the Komets

Not Komets, but 'tis the season

I know everyone is super-busy at this time of year, but this might be something you may want to consider for the second half if you can find the time. I wrote this for something else, but this is something like Komets Kare Package (coming up Sunday!) that is very important to me.

Anyway, if you have a second to read this it would be much appreciated if you'd consider the option. There are currently more than 1,000 kids in Fort Wayne waiting for Big Brothers or Big Sisters. Literally, all it takes is a little time, and the rewards are remarkable.:

Some notes

Don't expect Colin Chaulk to play the rest of this week with his shoulder... Eric Giosa might get to play around Christmas. If this were the playoffs, he'd probably be a gametime decision, but the Komets want to make sure he's 100 percent when he comes back... Marco Cousineau is skating ever day and its getting close... Norfolk GM and Anaheim Assistant GM Bob Ferguson was in the house tonight, as was LA Kings scout Robbie Laird... Komets left immediately after the game ofr Reading...

Komets win 7-3

Three goals by Josh Brittain, two by Luca Caputi and many great saves by Charlie Effinger like this one in the second period.

Lots more to come.

Kalamazoo preview video

I'm hearing Chaulk won't play tonight but Smith might.

This starts Sunday!

Tonight on SoundOff

Komets legends Eddie Long and George Drysdale are the featured guests, and Steve Kngsley and Dan Duesler will also be on to talk about Komets Kare Package which starts Sunday. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. on Channel 21.

Stanford Ratings for 12/10

Effinger stones Solar Bears

Caputi scores two as Komets win 3-0

Chaulk is out tonight

He's got a bum shoulder. Kaleigh Schrock is back in the lineup.

ECHL suspends player 21 games

Did you see this?

The ECHL on Wednesday announced that Stockton’s Kristians Pelss has been suspended for 21 games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #230, Bakersfield at Stockton, on Dec.1.

In the first period of the game, Pelss delivered a two-handed, forceful slash, behind the play, to the face of an unsuspecting opponent, causing an injury. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.

Evansville just got better

Here's the scoring winger they've needed for Todd Robinson. From an IceMen release:

Komets win

And I'm really not sure how! They were down two goals with 10 minutes left but they came back and won 5-4 in a shootout. Kenny Reiter made 40 save and stopped all five Orlando shooters in the shootout. Beauregard scored twice for the Komets.

More later.
