Is no news good news

According to Komets president Michael Franke, last week's Central Hockey League meetings in Gilbert, Ariz., ``went very, very well,'' but there's nothing he can announce from them.

"I think this is probably going to take a coupel of weeks to get everything finalized," Franke said. "This is not something you can announce in pieces. There's nothing to report except the process is moving along nicely."

The meetings are continuing by conference call today and will resume at the IHL meetings in Las Vegas from June 21-23.

Toledo's ECHL schedule

Toledo vs. Wheeling 8 times; vs. Kalamazoo 14 times; vs. Cincinnati 15 times; vs. Elmira 7 times; vs. Reading 6 times; vs. Everybody Else 22 times. That's approximately 70 percent of the schedule against five teams and 30 percent against the other 14, or an average of 1.6 games against everybody else. They play three games in a row at Florida, two games in a row at Gwinnett, and play the same team at home on back-to-back nights several times. They'll also probably

Michael Franke response

He and the other IHL owners will be going to the CHL meetings Thursday in Phoenix. These will remain two separate organizations essentially forming a business partnership. There will be inter-league play, an all-star game and playoff formats to be determined. A lot of this is to be determined over the next month.

OK, here's what I think is happening

And I'll preface this by saying I haven't had a chance to talk to anyone yet this week, so this is probably incredibly stupid of me to post about yet, but it won't be the first time or the last. ;)

Broaster jersey for bid

Turns out one of the bidders for the Broaster jersies the other night had to back out, so there is one more available. We're going to start a bidding on this topic. This is signed by the entire team and all the money goes to Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Indiana. For more information about the organization, you can go to DSANI.org. There were five jerseys available during the auction, and they raised $1,575.

Anybody want to start the bidding at $50?
