AAA attendance figures

I responded to this below, but figured I'd pull it out for a topic.

It's pretty easy to figure out in the AHL finances, or at least to be in the ballpark within a few hundred thousand dollars.

Frenchy receives award

Komets goaltender Kevin St. Pierre was named the United Hockey League's Goaltender of the month for March today. St. Pierre went 9-4-0 with a 1.85 goals against average and .927 save percentage during the month, along with three shutouts.

He was also named the goaltender of the month for December. He has a 31-16-2 record overall and leads the UHL with a .922 save percentage while ranking second with a 2.25 goals against average.

A quick note

I just found out Lance Galbraith made the trip to Quad City. Not sure if he's going to play, but I'm making a guess that he might or why go on a there-and-back road trip? Of course he might have gone along so he can get more treatment from Shawn Dundon. He has 288 career games, so he's in no trouble of passing 300 to earn veteran status for next season.

Komets General Manager David Franke said a decision on Galbraith's status won't be made until after the morning skate.

Talking with Jorde

Just for you, Hit Somebody! I tried to ask Ryan Jorde all the questions of yours that I could remember.

Blake Sebring: What's the fighting etiquette out there?

Ryan Jorde: I think that's just the fights I've had where I've beat on some guys pretty good and my reputation from the “A'' and stuff. I don't think too many guys want to mess with me. Actually it works in my favor anyways because then they don't run around and I can actually worry about playing then.

BS: How often do you ask a guy to go?

Spoke too soon

There's 10:24 left in the second and the Komets have 19 shots and four goals and Flint has two shots. Things are back to normal. Some pretty goals by the Komets.

It also helps that Rockford and Quad City lost, Adirondack is losing and Motor City is tied.

Don't like what I'm seeing

The Komets are up 2-1 after the first period but this is a much different game than they played against Flint on Friday. They aren't going to the net nearly as aggressively, and they've already given up some quality scoring chances to the Generals. Fort Wayne has out-shot the Generals 15-6, but a lot of those were from the perimeter. The Komets also aren't hitting too well and might be getting sucked into the Generals' road game style.

Or maybe it's just because they are 4-8-1 on Sundays.

Post-game notes

A few things I thought you might be interested in:

* Kevin St. Pierre has now tied Kalamazoo's Joel Martin for the top goals against average in the UHL at 2.23.

* Mark Lindsay fought for the second game in a row. ``Good for Mark,'' Komets coach Greg Puhalski said. ``He has played aggressively and generally the second half of the year he has played real solid and he has improved. He's a hard-working man.''

Considering he's only 21, that's saying something.
