Pretty good first period tonight. Chris Auger set up Artem Podshendyalov to split the IceMen defense and beat Pelletier for a 1-0 Fort Wayne lead. Both teams are flying. Komets lead in shots 12-7. IceMen are playing two men short, mostly on defense where Jordan Little, Karl Linden and Jake Obermeyer are out.
Former Komet Ian Boyce has been appointed to the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees for the University of Saint Francis. Boyce is a certified financial planner and principal owner of Dickmeyer Boyce Financial Management Inc. in Fort Wayne. He earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology at the University of Vermont, with a minor in economics. He is a director of the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne and a board member of the Downtown Development Trust.
Sled hockey is returning to Fort Wayne for the 4th Annual Bob Chase Frostbite and Silver Stick Sled Hockey Championship February 11-12, 2012.

Bus Trip-- Komet Kuarters is sponsoring a bus trip to Dayton for Saturday night's game. The bus will depart from the parking lot of Tokens 'n Tickets at 1:30pm. Komets broadcaster went back to the doctor today to get his knee checked out, and the X-rays were negative so right now he's planning on making the trip to Evansville on Wednesday.
