Science

Mr. Coffee

Man, they just can't make up their minds on coffee. It's bad for us, no, wait, it's good, uh-oh, here's a new study that's inconclusive. The latest news is really good for those of us who can't give the stuff up:

Coffee drinkers who worry about the jolt of java it takes to get them going in the morning might just as well relax and pour another cup.

Outta my Facebook!

Tilting at wind farms

Unintended consequences:

New research finds that wind farms actually warm up the surface of the land underneath them during the night, a phenomena that could put a damper on efforts to expand wind energy as a green energy solution.

No, I don't really believe this hype any more than I do any of the other hysterical nonsense. Did give me a case of the giggles, though.

Common sense

Happy Earth Day!

Psst, how about a new world order?

For the "Oh, give me a break" file -- in order to head off "climate catastrophe," we have no choice but to have an effective "world government":

Weed wacky

Good grief:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) told a constituent in favor of legalizing marijuana that he doesn't support the idea because drugs like pot lead to death.

Green, green

Juxtaposition of the day. Make of it what you will.

Presidential clout:

Thursday’s squeaker of a Senate vote on the Keystone XL pipeline serves both as a warning to President Barack Obama that a majority of both houses of Congress supports the pipeline and as encouragement to Republicans to keep pushing the issue.
