Teams just hit the ice because it ooks like they had to work out some bugs with the new ice and the game might start around 8:30 or maybe even a little later.
Anybody know how many people went down on the bus today? How many times have they had to stop alra
First there was a goal by Jesse Bennefield
Then a fight between Dustin Molle and Rapid City's Anthony Perdicaro
Let's start it off here.
I asked the Komets about the two time outs per period, and they said that is something the league gave the teams the option to do so they are doing it.
Not a very large crowd, maybe even less than last Saturday from what I can see.
Happy 44th birthday to Larry Schmitt.
Former IHL Commissione Tom Berry is in attendance
The Komets have placed center J.M. Rizk on 10-day IR with an undisclosed injury.
I just heard from someone at Lutheran Health Sports that a AAA youth team from Wilkes-Barre Scranton, Pa., just stopped to practice on their way to play in a tournament in Chicago. That's the first time something like that has happened since Canlan opened.
For Stephon Thorne and Kevin Beech. They'll be activated for this weekend's games, which means the Komets have ot make some roster moves. Nothing yet on Jamie Lovell.
The Northeast Indiana Baseball Association will honor two former Major League players, a longtime coach and two members of the local media during induction ceremonies Nov. 11.
Retired players Rob Bowen and Ben VanRyn and longtime local sportswriter Steve Warden will be inducted, and former Concordia coach and current Wildcat Baseball League official Jack Massucci and News-Sentinel assistant sports editor Don Converset will receive special awards.
`` I think it's disappointing. We have a good rivalry going with those guys. We're going up to their place twice and they are only coming here for one game? I'm disappointed in that. I don't know how many trips they are making into the Midwest. I would have liked to hvae had them come in a couple of times. Next year we'll try to get them on the home schedule more.''
But do the Komets have any control over that? Not really.
On the immigration status of Jamie Lovell, Stephon Thorne and Kevin Beech. Komets have paid the extra money to expedite the process, but as soon as Frederic Korduner was red-flagged, the process had to start over and they were stuck. Usually it takes 30-60 days to get a petition through immitration, but the Komets paid extra to get a ruling within 15 days. Korduner and Beech and Thorne were all on the same petition during the preseason. The Komets are working with an immigration lawyer, but there's no telling when it could come through.
To see the Komets play Rapid City for their one time all season in Fort Wayne on Friday? I'm sorry, but that's a crime. These teams have a budding rivalry going, but the Rush make only one trip to Fort Wayne all year? And it's in the third week of the season? That's not good enough. What's even crazier is that these teams are only going to play five times this season, and they'll be done by December 3.
Imagine if the Packers and Bears were done by the fourth week of the season, or if IU and Purdue played bas
