All about me

One flu over the Cuckoo's nest

I went to a mini Germanfest with friends Saturday evening at the Knights of Columbus hall on Reed Road. Good food and good music, but there were a couple of hundred people (at least) in a small space, and I started getting phobic about the possibility of catching flu there. Then I spend a lot of Sunday beating myself up for being so irrational. I console myself now with the fact that I'm not the only one:

No dessert today

Another one bites the dust. Gourmet, the nation's oldest food magazine, has had a significant advertising decline and will stop publishing after the November edition:

Hot stuff

The Food Network has discovered one of my favorite Indianapolis restaurants:

world to experience the best culinary fare, and Dr. BBQ believes St. Elmo
Steak House's shrimp cocktail is the best thing he has ever eaten. The
Indianapolis favorite will join the ranks of echelon dishes celebrated on the
Food Network show, "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.
during a segment taping at the restaurant.

The realdeal

An issue the administration and its Republican foes have not debated yet (but any day now, I'm sure):

Is it "health care" or "healthcare?"

The red underline in my browser says "healthcare" is misspelled, but sometimes browsers are better at surfing than spelling, especially in areas where popular use is evolving a spelling or word meaning.
