Food and Drink

It's caffeine, not cocaine, OK?

I love my coffee, but this is just stupid:

How much are you willing to pay for a cup of joe?

A gourmet coffee chain is betting you'll pay up to $12 for a fine brew.

Cafe Grumpy has Brooklyn locations in Greenpoint and Park Slope.  It also has a Manhattan location in Chelsea.

Spoiler alert

A few years ago, I saw an episode of some sitcom in which one character said to another, "Well. it looks like somebody is missing the prize in his Happy Meal." It was a pop-culture image thrown in to describe someone's glumness because the writer knew it was a reference most in the audience would get.  And that's the problem, damn it!

Unfit to serve

Penny Molargik got more than breakfast at the Railroad Inn Wednesday morning.

What's

My first thought on seeing in the headline that a city council is going to tackle the deer problem, was, hmmm, good! Bet a lot of people will be enjoying venison on the grill. But this is Bloomington, after all. As the deer population has increased in the city, there are more conflicts between animals and humans. Residents are said to be worried about "deer-vehicle collisions, tick-borne illnesses and damage to gardens and safety." But heaven forbid they cause the deer any problems:

Whopper's bad taste

Well, speaking of being offended.

Food fight

Why do you think they call it dope junk food, kid?

Scientists have finally confirmed what the rest of us have suspected for years: Bacon, cheesecake, and other delicious yet fattening foods may be addictive.

Sound advice

Oops:

Public service advertising campaigns that use guilt or shame to warn against alcohol abuse can actually have the reverse effect, spurring increased drinking among target audiences, according to new research from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
