Tailing the Komets

Report Card Night extended

From a Komets press release:

Due to the inclement weather recently, and as the PA says below (many schools were not able to get Report Card Night info to the students until this week), we will be extending Report Card Night to an additional night, Friday, Feb. 28 against Greenville.

Rumor central

David Franke said theKomets have not talked to Justin Hodgman since last summer. He would be crazy to walk away from the money he is making in Russia to come here and play for $800 a week. He's not crazy.

They are also not talking to anyone in Europe at this time, and the deadline is Saturday, meaning they have to be here by Saturday.

Tyler Butler has retired

CHL's Brampton Beast announced it today.

``“With a wife and 5 young daughters in Fort Wayne, it was purely a family decision for Tyler,” stated President and GM, Cary Kaplan. “We would have liked to have Tyler down the stretch, but we respect the choice that is best for him and his family at this point.''

Wednesday in Cincinnati

Let's start the discussion here. How are you feeling about the Komets now?

Good problems to have

Scott Fleming is heading back to the Komets from Worcester of the AHL, and Jason Dale and Simon Danis-Pepin are both hoping to play Wednesday in Cincinnati, meaning coach Gary Graham has some tough but good decisions to make about his lineup.

What would you do?

Auger-Wesley fight

It's 2-1 after two

Let's see if the Komets come out and continue to play aggressively or if they player super-defensively in the third like they have been most of the season. They need to come out aggressively.

It's 1-1 after the first

On this rebound goal by Chris Auger.

Justin Taylor scored on a breakaway for the Wings.

Komets keep moving up with win

Saturday in Cincinnati

Let's start the discussion here.

Haven't heard anything yet about a Schrock suspension, but it wouldn't surprise me, and my guess is it would be for tomorrow's game anyway. The league pretty much has to respond to his actions, and the ECHL especially doesn't go for acts like that.

That said, I expect EVERYTHING to be called on Sunday as the ref tries to assert control right away. This could be the least-physical game of the year because of that.

What Graham said

``There was three faceoff interferences, at the same time! We got mauled beyond... I've never seen anything like that in my life of interference in the faceoff. We had guys literally getting hauled (down) with two hands around, guys pulling guys down backwards like a wrestling move. Why do you think their guys were open there? I'm talking about the blatant double, triple faceoff interference.
