The state of the culture

If the shoe fits . . .

This ad seems to be all over TV lately, at least during the programming I watch. Hhave you seen it? I swear, this is the biggest collection of silly, "look at me, ain't I purty" empty-headed twits you're likely to see this year. I recommend it as highly amusing for those depressed souls who need a little lift.

Authoresses

Huh:

I JUST noticed something strange on Wikipedia. It appears that gradually, over time, editors have begun the process of moving women, one by one, alphabetically, from the “American Novelists” category to the “American Women Novelists” subcategory. I know it's a risky prediction to make, but surely this will end up being the strangest thing I read the whole month:

Justin Bieber has caused outrage after leaving a 'tasteless' comment in the guestbook at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam.

Collective wisdom

Since I posted about MSNBC' host Melissa Harris-Perry's outlandish "Children don't belong to their parents" claim, I suppose I should comment on her reaction to all the "hateful, personal attacks" she's received. She's not backing down, in fact rather proudly proclaims that she is doubling down:

Here come the ghouls

When Pastor Rick Warren lost his son Matthew to mental illness and suicide, the cowards and ghouls crawled out from under their rocks:
