Roster updates

Nick Boucher, Brad MacMillan and Konstantin Shafranov will be in the lineup Friday night, according to General Manager David Franke. Rick Varone and Brandon Warner they aren't so sure right now. Varone may be moved to 30-day IR. Danko Mironovic is also likely to be ready to play. The Komets won't announce any definitive roster moves until Friday. X-rays on Warner's angle were negative.

Good news!

Nick Boucher comes off IR on Wednesday, Konstantin Shafranov is eligible Monday, Rick Varone can go on Tuesday and Brad MacMillan's 15-game suspenion is done.

Other than that, I got nothing else positive for you as the Komets lost to Port Huron 2-0 on Saturday night. It had been four years since the Komets had been shut out on the road before their game Dec. 5 at Dayton, and now it has happened in back-to-back road games for the first time since November, 2004. Yikes!

Only 23 shots on goal Saturday night. After a 7-2-0 start, the Komets have gone 5-6-1, scoring only 26 goals.

OK, let's do this right

Since we all seem to be talking back and forth over about five topics, let's put them all into one. I'll do this until 10 p.m., and then I'm done for the night.

Don't you guys think Haun has been the MVP so far?

Sryoczynski recalled to Norfolk

The Komets learned Thursday that forward Matt Syroczynski has been re-called to the AHL's Norfolk Admirals. Wednesday the left winger returned to Fort Wayne after an 18-game stint with Norfolk and scored a goal and added an assist in a 4-2 loss to the visiting Port Huron Icehawks.

It is uncertain how long Syroczynski's stay will be with Norfolk. The next three games for Norfolk are home games this Friday, Saturday and Wednesday.

Komets lose 4-2

Second time in three games they have lost a two-goal lead at home. TIm Haun did not have his best night. Over the last two weeks, Kevin Bertram is plus-9 and Bobby Phillips is plus-5 and everybody else on the team is something like minus-4. I think Phillips has been the Komets' best player besides Haun of late.

Matt Syroczynski was released by Norfolk of the AHL today and will be back in Fort Wayne tonight. In 18 games with the Admirals he scored four goals and six points ith

They put Blair Stayzer on 30-day IR retroactive to Friday. He has a concussion and he's at least two or three weeks away from being ablet o get into it agian. we're going to give him plenty of time to get over that. Nagging shoulder injury.

He called me this morning at home. I'm going to pick h im up at the airport tonight. He seemed pretty excited about coming back.

Thank you

That's Indiana Army National Guard Private Trinity Kreiger putting a case of baby wipes into the Project Komets Kare Package box on Sunday. We filled the box two times, which we're figuring is about 20 barrels. That puts us over 100 barrels for the last four years.
